Multinationals’ people are sometimes stupid August 27, 2006

hello again,

Today, as in every Sunday, i looked at the job offers on the biggest job portal in Romania. Not that i am interested in getting a job in Romania right now, but to keep updated. (It is always good to keep yourself updated about the work market, to know what is your value and what are your options).

And guess what…there is a big multinationl company that offers a job as training coordinator.they are looking for this person (at lest advertising for the job on www.ejobs.ro ) since 2 months ago. They are probably looking for a person with 3+ years of experience in a “relevent position” in another multinational….ad i guess they still didn’t find that person…

It is normal not to find him/her because most of the multinationals in Romania have just started to develop a training department, so probably the most experienced trainer with multinational experience is only 1+ years of experience…and they pay him/her well enough not to fly away. and is the same thing with the trainers that work for consulting companies…why leave? they have good jobs…

So the solution would be to either wait some more, or get a less prepared trainer and get him/her prepared.

Think about it…they have been looking for this person for 2 months…they will still be looking for some more months if they won’t make a compromise…Wouldn’t it have been more efficient if they would hve hired someone with less experience, less salary and more motivation for the job, and use these 2 months for an internship in another country for that person, instead of searching?

I am thinking wrong or sometimes Romanian multinational managers are not so full of wisdom?

have a smooth road,

A new road for this blog August 26, 2006

hello again…

I decided to switch on English because i made my blog public.

I am still in vacation – since 13 of July to 7 of September – a big holiday – in which i managed to relax a lot and travel a little.

I saw Rome and Vatican and a piece of France – Nice and Monte Carlo – nice places. It is very hard for me to retell how it was, because it was GREAT! And because it was great it is hard to retell…it is better if you just take your backpack, make some sandwitches and just go and see them by yourself.

I saw all these towns with only 100 euros – we were 5 people in a car and the guys drove by night so we managed to avoid staying in hotels – we stay only one night in Rome and payed about 30 euros each.

I saw Colosseum,  St. Pietro’s Cathedral, The Partheon, Vatican’s Museums together with Sixtine Chapel. In Monte Carlo i saw the the casino and…many super cars :) …in Nice we went to the  beach and visited the historical part of the city – i will not get into details you just have to see the pictures…i will upload some albums ;) …just to open your taste for travelling.

The rest of my vacation i spent it and still spend it relaxing, in Genova (a great harbour, by the way) – with my boyfriend…

I’m still working at the Train The Career Coaches project and i am very enthusiastic about it – it will be a great career service!

And i have big plans for my future career - i will go back home to Romania and get my diploma as a professional trainer in adults’ education, sign up for a master in human resources in Bucharest and find a traineeship trough AIESEC for a few months, in Europe, because i am still thursty for travelling but i want a country close to home :)

In the meanwhile i thought a lot about this blog, and i felt guilty because i didn’t keep my friends updated. It is the second blog i have created and i am striving to keep it “alive”, and i will do it!

My life changed and my blog will change also. When i created it i felt quite lonely, and had a lot of thoughts on my mind which i felt i should write them down. right now i am very happy, i don’t feel lonely, and i am not so introspective anymore…i am thinking more about my professional career…and about travelling:) .

So this blog will take a new road – just exactly as i did :) and i want it to be a “Career advice blog” – we will see how it works :) …and when i will feel like changing it because i changed myself, i will change it! but i am not giving it up ;)

have a nice road,
