Multinationals’ people are sometimes stupid August 27, 2006

hello again,
Today, as in every Sunday, i looked at the job offers on the biggest job portal in Romania. Not that i am interested in getting a job in Romania right now, but to keep updated. (It is always good to keep yourself updated about the work market, to know what is your value and what are your options).
And guess what…there is a big multinationl company that offers a job as training coordinator.they are looking for this person (at lest advertising for the job on www.ejobs.ro ) since 2 months ago. They are probably looking for a person with 3+ years of experience in a “relevent position” in another multinational….ad i guess they still didn’t find that person…
It is normal not to find him/her because most of the multinationals in Romania have just started to develop a training department, so probably the most experienced trainer with multinational experience is only 1+ years of experience…and they pay him/her well enough not to fly away. and is the same thing with the trainers that work for consulting companies…why leave? they have good jobs…
So the solution would be to either wait some more, or get a less prepared trainer and get him/her prepared.
Think about it…they have been looking for this person for 2 months…they will still be looking for some more months if they won’t make a compromise…Wouldn’t it have been more efficient if they would hve hired someone with less experience, less salary and more motivation for the job, and use these 2 months for an internship in another country for that person, instead of searching?
I am thinking wrong or sometimes Romanian multinational managers are not so full of wisdom?
have a smooth road,
