hey,
in the last 2 weeks i had time to wake up and adapt everything here.
i understoond that i work in a great and special team, because not all the other trainees are as lucky as me (it seems). i like my job and i like Frankfurt.
i aet chineese food and visited their Christmas Market, i was at a company Christmas party in a traditional, tipical Frankfurt restaurant, i learnt some more about the German people, i discovered some nice parks in the town, i sang in a Karaoke Irish pub, i aet Belgian waffers and Australian icecream, i had a birthday party, i redecorated my room, i eat traditional German-Hessen sweets, i saw a movie in English, in a cinema that playes only movies in their original language, and tomorrow we will have a traditional Christmas party with “the family” …in our case the landlords, which is something i am not so enthusiastic about, but is ok.
i went to a Afterwork party in a very nice club. i like the concept alot – you just go in your work clothes to this club and pay 6 euros for entrance and eat as much as you want from the buffe, and then they clean all te tables and make a dancing ring out of that space. you pay 4 more euros for the drink and dance since you think you should go home, because tomorrow you go to work again:) is a concept that is very loved by the single (quiet old …28-35) career oriented people that are still hoping to find someone. so they go in their business suits to this afterwork dinner and dancing to meet people. the dancing ring is quiet small so i guess this is the only place where Germans could touch eachother without having the barriers specific to their culture. becuase it is crouded you can not complain about people touching you…and also you have an excuse that only here is credible. even so, do not expect to see people kissing…i have never seen since i am here, a couple kissing on the street or even at a party…i do not know if they are really that cold or they just enjoy being in love ONLY at home…
i eat many types of traditional food, because i am having lunch at the company canteen. i think their traditional food is no so healthy, they eat a lot of meat. i am among the few that eat salads:) natural fruit juices are very popular here and people are against eating “artificial” products. most of the people even if they sometimes can not afford it, try to buy “BIO” alimentary products. but anyway, they eat alot at lunch at the company canteen, because is cooked food and also cheaper, and breakfast and dinner are not so common in here…
PS: i really miss Romania and the Mall in Bucharest..i never thought i would say this, but it is true…
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Hugs,
