Opportunity for all of us who want to know more January 16, 2007

Hello friends from everywhere,

Yesterday i had a thought!

Last week i was at this Alumni & AIESEC Members meeting to celebrate the begining of a new year and to do some networking. After discussing about the EU context for Romania, and trying to explain them that Dracula is just a story, that we are in a big comotion as a country and Ceausescu is not on our lips anymore because in the last 16 years very many changes have happened, that there are already many companies that have successfully established their subsidies in Romania (like Siemens VDO, Renault, Lear Corp., IBM, UBI Soft, Coca Cola HBC, QAB etc. to name just a few of them that come in my mind right now), that our dental services are of a great quality and the price is much more lower then in other CEE countries and some many other subjects, i had a thought…there are so many intelectuals and entrepreneurs that have not even a clue about my country…i expected this from people that don’t read newspapers and don’t watch CNN, from people with no initiative, but these guys were the “creme de la creme”…I had a thought…

And there was this guy that asked me if i speak Russian…i do not speak Russian…sorry…but he kept insisting…for God’s sake! i speak 4 languages but not Russian…is it so hard to believe that the percentage of Romanians that speak Russian decreased almost to Zero since 15-20 years ago?

And…by the way…Bucharest is our capital, not Bratislava or Budapest…

So my thought is that maybe i should consider writing more about Romania on this blog, and not about my travels:))

But i will take this as an opportunity…for all of us who want to know more…about Romania…you feel free to ask me anything, from cultural differences, to intercultural communication, Romanian presentations, Romanian food, nice places for traveling, to how should i present myself to a meeting with a businessman from Romania, to contacts to open a subsidy in Romania, to potentials recruitment in Romania, to business opportunities in Romania…

I will be glad to tell you more:)
