Yup…
i had 2 interviews with NIKE, and 1 with KRAFT…i will still have 2 more with KRAFT…and i also had a discussion for extending my current internship…
until now i got a YES from NIKE …so starting with June-July i might be in the HQ near Amsterdam:)…i would prefer the internship in KRAFT…it is more challenging and it offers me more future career opportunities…but i have to wait a bit more and see what answer will they give me…so next week things will be more more clear and “the big waiting” will be over…
i finally decided and said NO to extending my current internship…it took me 2 weeks to think about it and clear my mind and take the most rational decision…it was really hard…but in these type of situations, even if it is hard, i have to think about me, myself and I…and nothing else should matter, because otherwise i could end up somewhereelse then where i have wished to be…if i let myself influenced by other peoples (subjective) opinions and “advices”…
i also got NOs from the internships at which i applied in Frankfurt…one of them was in NIKE…so this is funny…NIKE DE didnt think i am well prepared enough, but NIKE EMEA HQ said YES
)..anyways…since i got only NOs in Frankfurt…it is now sure that i will leave this city…so i will say “Good-bye Frankfurt!” in 25 days…i will go back to Romania for probably less then 20 days, pass my exams and then it will be Zurich or Amsterdam…
from Italy i got no answers…totally nothing…not even confirmation of application receival…so i guess it is not meant to be…but anyways everytime i go to Italy i dont really feel like working, but more like vacationing:)
it is so good to clean up stuff in your life…to end the “big waiting” and know more about the future…there is no weight on my sholders anymore…things sound promising..and outside is a great weather:)…
now i just have to finish the projects i started…i always like to finish what i start…so it will be quite a lot of work for the next 3-4 weeks…
all the best…

On the Easter big Sunday we went on boat trip on Main…is was really nice…i will upload some photos (i still didnt forget about the ones i promised from Elsas…but i need to find time to upload them..).
i have seen around 12-15 castles and many many onl people that were just travelling around…really nice…we were 15 trainees from different countries…the conclusion is that if you travel in Hessen, you definitly have to make a boat trip and see Rödelsheim, an old city that is in its original shape and didnt suffer any bombings…
and of course St. Goar…there you can see the biggest Cucu clocks in the world and the biggest collection of beer mugs, and many nice typical toys stores…wooden ones and of course the amazing musical boxes…where the passion for perfection is sooo visible…all the details are almost perfectly painted or sculptured in these toys that if give them to your children to play with them you might be afraid that they will break them…

so i had a disscusion with my superior…again…and they offered me an internship…from 2 to 8 months…i didnt expect that…
but i really want something challenging…and i am ok with staying here longer…maybe 1-1,5 years…so now i am looking for a job…and also considering this internship…
i love to have options….because if you have options and you get some “NOs” and some “YESes” you can always make up your mind and not be sad and not regret things or events…
on the other hand i might get an interview with Google for an HR&IT job in Paris, and with NIKE for an HR&IT job in Amsterdam…maybe i will be lucky…
job hunting again:)) hehe…i almost forgot how it feels…it is exciting…except……the WAITING…my patience will be challenged again:))
PS: hope you had a happy Easter…i didnt have any paited eggs to crack…but i did eat sarmale and i managed to gather 7 Romanians under the same roof:) in beautiful Erzhausen…with, of course, 8 more other internationals…and some Germans;)

to stay or not to stay longer…this is the question…
I like Frankfurt, i like this company, i like this team, but the job is not challenging at all…it never was actually…so anything besides the JD i would like to stay more, but is it worth it?
Is it worth it to extend my internship and stay 2 more months for everything besides my job…taking into consideration that i spend 8,5 hours at the office each day…and most of the time i have very few tasks and not challenging at all?…
I am sad….

that was yesterday evening….
a short evening because today a new work week started…
we went to Kanky (i hope i am not mistaking). is in the center of the town…is totally Turkish…with Shisha and comfortable sofas…even pillows on the floor…original turkish music (not manele) which sounds really good…chandeliers and turkish decorations on the walls…and of course most of the customers were turkish…here and there zou could see a pale face and you just knew he/she must be German, joining his/her Turkish friends…and everzwhere a soft shisa smoke with all sorts of flavours.
you can even see how they prepare the shisha…how they burn the carbon and put place the flavoured piece in the shisha…
we were only 3 people…a lot of space to talk and share ideas:)..an indian and 2 romanians…in a turkish shisha bar:))…and i was lucky and chose a nice cocktail…Tequilla sunrise…with a lot of lime, orange and lemon…great! (i don’t like the sweet ones)
it was nice and quite evening…just enough to find your sleep and go imediatly to bed…while others still staied there and did some belly dances:))
American Night out April 4, 2007

After Central Park and New York cheese cake….on Saturday i decided to go with the guys to enjoy a basketball game in a Sports Bar: “Yours”…so typical American:)) but interesting for …observation…and we drank Weizen…for me it tastes…a little bit too sweet for a beer, but i like it…it seems is the favourite beer of many foreign interns…
This time it was guys night out:))…not too many girls like basketball…we were only 2 girls and 5 guys…the game was really nice…not NBA but even nicer…because the guys playing were in the UNI championship…and when you are young and not payed by the NBA, you put a lot of passion and even if you lack professional skills, the enthusiam makes a nice show out of a game…It was Ohio vs George Town (and this is how i found out that more then half of the boats in Genova harbour are coming from George Town, USA and not UK
)…and the big american fans brought Ohio T-shirts to all of us…which were pretty huge for the girls…but…whatever…
The atmosphere was really interesting…meaning that all over the place were americans….white, black, in between…with perfect accents…and our american friend was telling us from where do they come, each of them…the europeans didnt seem too interested in the game, more in the beer and the american girls:)) …so the mexican and hungarian trainees were chating all the time not even bothering abou the game…
I enjoied the game…it was really nice and because they were not professional NBAs it made me remember of the good old times, when i used to play in the town team, 3-4 times per week for 3-4 hours…magnificent times…but now i cant even run…my streched bents are recovering, but my knee is still not like new…but…to get to a nicer ending…the team which we supported won…so it was a great evening:)

the best cheese cake ever…in Central Park…
everytime i eat it i remember FRIENDS and how Rachel, Joye and Chadler were eating the fabulous cake from the floor, because they droped it but they didn’t want to give it up:))
Central Park is a nice caffee bar in Frankfurt…in the center…and New York cheese cake is my favourite:)…on Friday we went there..and i aet 2 cakes
i just loved it…
we were 8 girls and 3 boys …like usual…lately…because it seems AIESEC Frankfurt and also the national accounts bring mostly girls as interns…are the girls more ambitious, more prepared, or more curajous to take up an international experience? i don’t know what is happening…but it was girls-mostly night out:))…and we talked a lot and cracked jokes like always and planed the entire next week…meaning this week…tomorrow cinema, wednesday afterwork party, thursday birthday party for a common romanian friend, friday romanian lunch with sarmale and everything, saturday a walk in the park…a friend found a nice one in Bad homburg, and Sunday a boat trip on Main…i guess by this full agenda you can see that spring came:))…and it is beautiful!!

it was last week…on Tuesday evening…
we went to a bar called 603 in Darmstadt…it was really interesting…
most of the people there were students…not only German ones, because in Darmstadt are many internationals…
we drank beer and listened to live music, a la Goran Bregovic…nobody was dancing, but they were all dressed like students, and enjoying the music and a good talk…standing..because the place had 2 terasses and people were inside and also outside, but there was no table and no chair…
when you bought something you had to pay 25-30 cents more, because of the guarantee…so you could see dizzy people, bringin back the bottles to the bar, because they wanted the guarantee money back…that is really intelligent…recicling and also keeping the bar clean…
we spoke only German, and i realised that after one beer i speak better:)) and the guys said so too. i guess i get over the fear of making grammer mistakes and speak more fluently…somehow…
i tried one of the Darmstadt beers…here each town has its own brewerry…at least one:)
I like Darmstadt…is a student city, full of young people…and nobody seems in a hurry…in Frankfurt most of the people you meet on the streets are wearing suits and look soo business like…and of course they are always heading towords something, which makes them …hurry:)
but i prefer working in Frankfurt and enjoying some nice time with friends in Darmstadt:)
i enjoied the evening completly…i liked the music, i liked speaking German with the Germans…and foreigners…but all of them engineers:)) i felt like home in my student years:)) …and of course celebrating Tom’s graduation because this was all about…he invited me together with some other friends and his house mates to drink together a beer in this student bar because he finished his masters…and student life is over…and he will become an employee…reasons to be sad and reasons to be happy…this is life…
