I arrived on Saturday…
AIESEC picked me up from the airport…it was sunny weekend and i jumped in exactly in Zurichs biggest festival…Zuri Fascht :) …it happens only once in 4 years but is really cool…it is the only time when you can see 2 mil people in this 100 000 inhabitants city:)

there are ni beggers, no thives…the salaries are huge…and the costs are not as big as everybody says….i have exactly the same expences as i had in Frankfurt…but no financial problems…

i love my new job…it is very interesting…creating all kinds of people development projects and content for business analysts…oh and i forgot to mention…most of the IT employees are, of course, men:) which makes me feel much more confortable then with women…

i love the IT they are “making” here…data mining and that kind of stuff…and on HR they are not as good as a HR background people….but i guess this is why they chose me…
well…a lot of new and interesting stuff…i love it:) and the team is pretty young…and IT guys are quite open minded which is really cool:)

AIESEC people are more involved here then the ones in Frankfurt and they appreciate trainees presence much more…but i guess is normal since we are only 10:) and we all live in trainees apartments….

hugs,

but i just don’t feel like doing it…

i left Valcea on Thursday and then i left bucharest on Saturday…i am in Zurich now and i like the job…though i don’t like AIESEC people’s atitude: i have no light in my room…this is how responsible they are…we are in the 21st century and there is no light in my room…and many other things…but this sucks the most…

for Germany i got the visa in 4 days…

i am sick of it…i have never checked my email so often…like 100 times in the same day hoping some good news is coming in my inbox…

i have moments when i almost feel like saying i give up this waiting and the contract and everything…and just go get a job…or something…waiting sucks…

i am an innovative person…i have always found things to do to fill my spear time…but this time is kind of hard…i ran out of ideas…

yes, we lost the World War 3 July 5, 2007

the World war 3 started when people with money had no places to invest them…anymore…
so they decided to create places to invest in…so the “demolish-ion” of the communist block started…around 20 years ago?!…
then, to make investments easier they decided to create EU…
the first EU countries started to invest in the ugly ducklings of Europe and to get them in EU…
for Romania…it was easy…with our Governance:(…

But first let’s talk about the revolution…i think it was no revolution (as many others think) …it was a gang fight…the West and the Russians…both wanted us…and we had no choice…our young people died because of “West and Russian war”, because of their greediness…

Afterwards, they bought everything, the West and also the Russians…Sidex, Petrom, Arpechim, some banks…everything…except Oltchim….why? because it pollutes a lot…but the entire Europe needs it…so it has to be kept, because no Western country would build such a “pollution bomb” on their territory…and what they didn’t buy, they distroyed…we have no textiles industry anymore, no alimentary industry, the agriculture is going quite bad, because even the irrigation systems was taken as old iron…and so on and so on:(

From the point of view of the normal avarege citizen, this EU thing is good, because the life standards are growing rapidly…i would dare to say that the growth rate is actually bigger then it is said and changes happen so fast that you feel you are in a race…and when i go to western countries, no matter what i do, i feel like in a holiday…just because their rhythm is so slow compared to how fast things happen here…but let’s no praise Romania too much…there are also so many things that happen toooo slow…
So i was saying for the avarage citizen EU is good…yes…there are many multinationals that come and give us jobs…but the salaries are not that great…otherwise they would stay home, right?…and…there is no more such thing as Romanian big company or big factory…with some small exceptions it is true…but they are so few:( and this is sad…for me is very sad…

From the point of view of Romania as a country…when we started selling stuff on symbolic prices…and when we sold EVERYTHING that could matter for us as a country…and then when we joined EU accepting so many rules that favor imports and monopole of foreigners in our own country…we just lost the World War 3 …

i have put all these together only now…considering when i started to think about it…it took me 2 years:(

the BAC exam July 4, 2007

My brother has the BAC (graduation from high school) exam.
And it is amazing how things change since my BAC exam, 5 years ago.

The exam at Romanian literature that time, was quite nice…i had to comment on a “opera” and i did it so well that afterwards i found out that the teachers made xerox copies from my paper because they liked my commentary:) but it was normal since i loved reading and won essays competitions back those times…

At maths on the contrary it was really horrible…they gave a subject that even country olimpycs didn’t know how to solve and i was very pissed off because back those times i was very ambitious…but also now i am ambitious…so better call it a geek:P

This year, here are the subjects:
Romanian literature:

http://subiecte2007.edu.ro/bacalaureat/subiecte/proba_A/limba_si_literatura_romana/varianta_078.html

Mathematics:

http://subiecte2007.edu.ro/bacalaureat/subiecte/proba_D/filiera_teoretica/profil_real/specializarea_stiintele_naturii/matematicaM1_2/matematicaM1_2/varianta_003.html

At the Romanian literature all the subjects are “not nice”…acceptable but not nice, and the last one!! My God! it even appeared in the news, so it is not only my opinion,
the guys that made these subjects at Romanian literature are STUPID because they ask for too much from an 18 year old brain, for the last subject you need to have read at least half a library to solve it properly!! and also to have some maturity so…i think they should have given that subject to the ones that are graduating Romanian Literature university!!!

On the other hand, the maths subject is really easy…ok, for me but anyways, there shouldn’t be marks under 8 at least in good high schools, there is no reason to have lower marks!! The subject are quite accessible and “clean”, without traps…as they used to torture us back on my times…

the conclusion to this example, and also to the way things are going in the educational reforms (taking out physics classes and introducing religion and so on …) the conclusion to the last years on education in Romania, to all this analysis, from my point of view is that: For the future, the “big guys” want Romanians to know less “exact sciences” and more “fluffy stuff”…i guess this way it is easier to be “an easy” country in EU…
…end of story:-(

well…lately i started to read some materials about Photoshop and some others about SAP…and some stuff about the Illuminati…
all this because i feel the need to take advantage of my last days here and spend my time properly:) enjoying what i like…

Photoshop because i was always fascinated by computer graphics and i already know Corel Draw;
SAP because i heard that a friend is earning around 3000 in Bucharest as a SAP consultant;
Illuminati because my boyf sent me the doc and it is a really interesting subject if you want to have an overview on the world’s happenings and their real reasons.

I don’t remember if i told you about the domain i chose for my website:)
it is www.dareberries.com and i got a nice logo, and I am working on the design and i believe it can be ready according to my plan:) The name is very meaningful, but i will not explain it right now, i keep it for later:)

I am very glad that Alex helped me out with some great photos for the site…you can check out his photos at: www.3puncte.ro i really love his style:)

On the other hand, i am waiting for the visa:P…but this is why i am doing all the rest of the stuff…to make the waiting easier:)
I am very enthusiastic about working in UBS and living in Zurich, and also curious, because all the people i’ve talked to seem really really nice people and warm, too. Daniel my trainee buddy from Frankfurt “scared” me after i left Frankfurt saying that people in Zurich will be even more cold than the ones in Frankfurt. I tend to contradict him about the people in Zurich and also about the ones in Frankfurt:)…I know what i was missing in Frankfurt…just my boyfriend:)…and a little bit more sun…i am not used with such grey, rainy weather, but the rest was great! I liked the work team, i like the company, my job was a little boring sometimes, but sometimes, again, i had great projects!…probably everywhere you have some dead days…in the West…because in Romania, an employee “is good for all” so if there is nothing to be done on your job, they find things for you to do on other topics…no matter your expertise:))

it is also great that i managed to keep in touch with some of the most important people for me, in Frankfurt and i am happy for that:)
